An Evening to Remember - Xmas in July 2024

An Evening to Remember - Xmas in July 2024

Christmas in July - oh what fun!

It was an evening to remember on July 25th in Westland. Christmas in July has become a staple of Westland community, every year organized by Westland Community Foundation.

Our celebration included a Christmas Tree with so many toys under it, brought by our guests to donate to Westland Salvation Army.

The  evening had delicious food and premium drinks from open bar. The guests also brought non perishable food items to donate to Salvation Army.

The air was filled with laughter and christmas carols.

This is the tradition which our Foundation wishes to continue with the help of generous donors, whose hearts are so big.

We would like to give a huge shouout to main sponsors who helped us to make this evening possible.

Santa Sponsor - Wayne County Community College District

                           Shaw Family Foundation

Rudolph Sponsor - Westland Car Care

50/50 - Wayne Westland Credit Union

Westland debuts new LOGO!

Westland debuts new LOGO!

The Westland Community Foundation is debuting a new logo to the community.

The Westland Community Foundation celebrated 25 years of giving in 2021. During 2021, a major milestone was achieved: Westland Community Foundation has distributed over $1,000,000 in funds (includes matching funds) to organizations in Westland.

In 2021 a major decision was made by the Board of Westland Community Foundation to join the Local Impact Alliance. As time evolved, so did the need to continue the foundation’s work best representing the area in which is served. The foundation successfully underwent a strategic planning and merging process with Local Impact Alliance.

The Board members realized that the logo needs to represent many facets of the foundation: the generosity of the community served, collaboration among donors and nonprofits with the foundation, growth of the community and hope.

No Child without Toy

No child without toy for holidays....

Westland Community Foundation's Toy drive on 1st December collected unwrapped toys for Salvation Army for the under privileged children.

John Glenn High School Choir provided the best festive cheer to the donors.

We can do so much when the communities come together.
It sure takes a Village...
